iXBRL Diagnostic Errors - Different Values and Duplicate Fact

You may find that you get errors reading Different values found in items using tag "problem tag" when export XBRL.

If not addressed, you will trigger 'Duplicate fact' warnings on submission to regulatory bodies.

The same tag has been applied in multiple places, with sufficiently similar contexts, but with different values.

For example in the above example error CashCashequivalents, the balance sheet cash amount reads £515,147, but the cash flow statement reads £518,646 due to an unaddressed difference error on the statement.

To correct this, you can select the correct option in the bottom left of the diagnostics menu.

A menu will appear, which will outline the different values and allow you to confirm the correct value.

Note: This selection only affects the report you are generating, so if you make an incorrect selection in this menu, the same diagnostic error will appear if you run through it again.

As these selections need to be repeated for each generation of the report, if you are investigating missing tags, you can still generate the report once the only warnings remaining are Yellow or Blue warnings.

However, it is essential all Yellow errors are addressed before a final report is produced as they will trigger errors on submission otherwise.  Blue errors can and should be freely ignored at all times.
