How do I resolve synchronisation conflicts on my SmartSync file?

When resolving conflicts, it is recommended that due care is taken to ensure all work completed is retained in the document going forward.

Conflicts should be resolved as soon as possible to limit the extent of the conflict.

1. To access a summary of the conflicts, select the yellow warning message in the Working Papers screen.

2. The summary lists all documents with outstanding conflicts including information regarding the most recent changes.

3. After double clicking a document, a list will display of all versions.

4. Once Current Version has been selected, the synchronisation conflict is seen to have been resolved and any markings or warnings will be removed.

The current version then becomes the document that is seen by all synchronised users as the true copy.

Non-current versions are still retained in the file and can be accessed when necessary.

Accessing non-current versions

When you confirm that a particular document becomes the current version, non-current versions are NOT deleted.

1. You can access these either through the Synchronisation Conflict dialogue, by checking the box to Show All Conflicts.

2. Or right-click the document and select Show Versions.

3. The conflicts box will then appear for that document. Here a non-current version can be viewed or promoted to become the current, as before.
