Saving a note as a custom KL to load into the accounts or distribute across the firm - with QuickVid

Once you have created a custom note in NotebuilderAdvanced, you have the option to export it as a Custom Knowledge Library and share it with other users.

Saving and Amending the KL

1. Select the KL button and, from the dropdown, click Save.

2. Enter a name for the custom note. This will then save the KL into the required location and show the output location above the note.

3. You can send a copy of this file to a colleague, for them to save it in the same location.

This will be shown in the save path of the note from the previous step.

The default path for this is C.\Program Files (x86)\CaseWare\Resources\Knowledge Library\Custom\

4. If any changes need to be made to the note, apply these in NotebuilderAdvanced (changes within the Accounts will not save to the KL).

Load the KL (to make changes) by opening NotebuilderAdvanced, selecting the KL button and then Load.

Loading the Note in the Accounts.

1. Within the accounts, select the note before the location for the new note.

2. Under the Note toolbar tab, select Add Note and then expand User Defined to select your new note.

3. While selected within the note, you will see that the Toolbar will now show the NotebuilderAdvanced options. This provides full NotebuilderAdvanced functionality within the Accounts.
