How do I amend the contents page numbers?

You may find that your Contents Page does not reference every Financial Statement or Report page. For example, the Balance Sheet below falls on both pages 7 and 8 but the Contents Page only references page 7.

This is caused by the deletion of default spacing lines in the Accounts, as these carry the tag information used by the Contents Page.

In order to repair this, you are able to insert a user-editable section to the page which is missing the reference.  The easiest method is to use the user text options available on the Note tab in the Accounts but, depending on the location of the issue, it may be necessary to insert an Extra Text Note and hide the note title.

Note: Using edit text mode (to create an editable location) is not suitable for the purposes of this article.

Once you have inserted the user-editable section, follow these steps:

1. Within CaseView, select View and Enable editing. Right-click on your editable text, and select Paragraph.

2. Enter the relevant Paragraph tag information in the Tag section, as below.  For the above example, this is BalSheetEnd.  Please see the end of this article for common tags.

3. This will now show on your contents page.

4. Delete any user text from the additional line, ensuring that the line continues to print.
