Showing a Detailed Profit and Loss within the Corporation Tax Computation

Note: This is article is not relevant for the 2023 UK taxonomy. With the introduction of the 2023 UK taxonomy, there is no longer an option to tag with or without DPL.

Caseware will determine the tagging of this statement (and corresponding notes) based on whether it is turned on within the Accounts Preparation Table.

If you use the taxonomy to include the DPL and generate an iXBRL you will not be able to select the option to show a DPL within the Corporation Tax Computation.

1. Load the CTWIZARD the Completion section will automatically pick up the Tagged DPL as being submitted with the accounts.

2. Selecting the standard taxonomy as shown below, will not tag the DPL within the accounts iXBRL.

3. You will then get an option within the CTWIZARD of where you would like the DPL to come from.

DPL in Computation - If you are not attaching an iXBRL that includes a tagged DPL and wish it to be tagged within the Computation.

DPL in Accounts - If you are attaching a third-party iXBRL not generated within Caseware which includes a tagged DPL.

No DPL required - If you are not submitting a tagged DPL to HMRC with your CT600 submission.

Note: To change the taxonomy in the Accounts to change the options you see in Corporation Tax, you will need to generate a new iXBRL to action the change.
