Cell References in Inserted Notes - V3

In an inserted note, it is possible to link an input cell to a cell within another note.

To set this up in the first instance follow the steps below:

1. Turn on the light bulb by left-clicking on the light bulb.

2. Right-click on the cell to link to and select Technical support information, Advanced options available on this cell and Copy this cell reference, so it can then be read from an Inserted Note cell (for numeric cells only)

This copies the cell reference.

3. Go to the cell in the inserted note to link this.

4. Right-click on the cell and select Paste a link to cell ???.??? in this cell (Keep the value of source cell).

5. The value in the cell reference will now show in the inserted note.

Note: There is an option to Flip +/- sign of source cell if required.

If the above process has not worked, take the following steps:

1. Ensure the light bulb is turned on and right-click on the cell that needs to be referenced.

2. Select Technical support information and view Make a note of the cell number Cell number: ???.???

3. Click on the cell within the inserted note and turn on Enable Editing by going to View | Enable editing.

4. Once in Enable Editing, right-click on the cell in your inserted note and select Edit Cell.

5. Type the new cell reference in the cell calculation and click OK.

6. To get out of Enable Editing, click on Form Mode on the toolbar.

Note: If an incorrect cell reference has been selected and needs to be removed completely, right-click and change the cell calculation back to the default.
