How to complete the ’Accs Format’ section of the Wizard

The Accounts Format (Accs Format) section of the Wizard is made up of four sections – Disclosure format, Terminology, Style and Final considerations.

Disclosure format

Accounts format

This section enables you to choose whether or not the company is dormant, and the company’s trading status.

If the company size is classified as small you will also have the option to produce full format or section 1A format accounts here, for further guidance on this please click here.

Presentation

This section enables you to select the Profit & Loss Account statement type from single-statement, two-statements or statement of Income and Retained Earnings.

Primary statement options

This section enables you to choose between the Format 1 and Format 2 Balance Sheet and/or Profit & Loss Account.

Other disclosures

This section enables you to select whether principal activities are disclosed and provide details of the principal activities.

You can also indicate if there were any discontinued operations to disclose on the Profit & Loss Account.

If the company has a defined benefits pension scheme this can be selected in this section, for mapping guidance click the icon circled below.

Terminology

This section enables you to select the terminology used for the primary statements.

Style

Presentation style

The alignment, font, shading and lines format are here for the figure columns, headers, footers and cover page.

The selections made here can be compared against the default style, shown in the far right column.

Presentation style (advanced)

Here, select whether to use standard/custom headers, footers and cover page. Custom content can be changed by clicking on ‘Amend’.

Final considerations

Rounding and currency settings

Select the rounding tolerance, the value chosen will be the amount that you can round on the face of the accounts.

Choose the currency symbol to display in the accounts and where you would like this to show.

Descriptions

Choose the period description for the body of the reports, select the title of the director(s) and set capitalisation of statement and report titles.

Descriptions (advanced)

Set the header and text descriptions and choose whether to capitalise the initial letters in the headers and text.
